FALLEN STAR JANUZAJ IS BRINGING SHAME ON MAN UNITED WITH HIS CONSTANT CHEATING

As written by Jeremy Cross (Daily Star Sports)

ADNAN JANUZAJ once had the world at his feet at Manchester United.

Adnan Januzaj was regarded as the new Ryan Giggs
But in less than two seasons the Belgium midfielder has literally gone from rising star to fallen hero - and he only has himself to blame.

Januzaj must have thought he'd cracked it in the ruthless world of Premier League football when he broke into the first team as a teenager in 2013.

Sir Alex Ferguson introduced him into the first team squad before retiring and then David Moyes handed him regular starting places during his ill-fated spell in charge.

Januzaj, who was born in Brussels of Albanian descent, was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise dismal and depressing period for the team under Moyes.

Januzaj was yellow carded for simulation against Arsenal in the FA Cup
Within three months he was given a new contract that saw his wages rocket after being hailed one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.

He earned a call-up to the Belgium squad and went to the World Cup in Brazil.

But that was as good as it got as his career began to unravel, with Louis van Gaal replacing Moyes and refusing to see the same potential in the 20-year-old as those before him did.

But there is a much more sinister side to this tale of woe and it reared it's ugly head once again at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Januzaj enjoyed more playing time under David Moyes
That's because something familiar happened - Januzaj was booked for diving.

Januzaj has been booked for simulation five times now and has more cautions for it than he does goals.

The standard of refereeing this season has been shambolic at times, but the men in black can't be wrong all the time.

This isn't a coincidence. Januzaj, for all his talent, has now managed to earn himself a reputation for being a cheat.
Last season Moyes tried to defend Januzaj, claiming he was being harshly treated by referees.

The former United boss argued that because he was fouled so often he was expecting contact and going to ground more easily than other players.
What sort of argument is that?

Januzaj is barely out of his teens, but already he has made it into the all-time Premier League top two for simulation bookings.

LVG doesnt see any potential in Januzaj yet
It has become embarrassing and Van Gaal needs to take him to task because there is no place in the game for cheating and he is bringing shame on United's greatly-respected name and reputation.

One of the biggest challenges for managers these days is trying to get young players to keep their feet on the ground amid all the fame and fortune.

Never has this applied more than it does to the case of Januzaj - for more reasons than one.
