KOMPANY - BRING ON CHELSEA
Vincent Kompany has warned bookmakers writing off the title chance of Manchester City to have a rethink.
The Citizens' captain insists his side are more than capable of stringing together a run of big results.
The 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal has cranked up the heat on City to get a result at Stamford Bridge on the last day of the month.
Chelsea's 5-0 whitewash of Swansea and City's home defeat to the Gunners means Chelsea are five points clear at the top.
Kompany knows the snippers are gunning for his side but insists they are more focused than ever before for the Chelsea clash.
Kompany said: "In theory, it should be better for us now because we will be more fired up for it, definitely. We have always been great in games like that so i'm actually looking forward to it"
The Belgian defender says his men have hung in there despite having some of their big players missing.
He added: "I have seen the same desire that i have seen year in, year out and that will never change.
"We have been without Sergio Aguero, myself, Yaya Toure and David Silva for a long period of time and yet we are still here five points behind Chelsea.
"if you had said that to us a month ago we would have said 'yes we will take it.' its good and its high and lows, that's what it's all about"
And Kompany points to their recent record for being winners over the course and distance.
"We've been in situations like this before and it wont affect the way we look at the Premier League, or the way we look at the Champions League or the FA CUP.
